Student Projects...
Poster Design Project
These are examples of posters designed for events at San Dimas High School. Most images were made in a teacher/student collaboration, where the students would create the images in their chosen medium, and I would scan it or photograph it. Finally, in conference with the student, I would finish the project using graphic design software, such as Adobe Photoshop.
Surrealism Project
Creating an image in the SURREALIST style. On a scratch piece of paper, fill in the following list:
1. Three Objects (inanimate):
2. One occupation:
3. One location:
4. One animal name:
5. One verb, or action word
If possible, switch completed lists with another student from class, or have someone else fill in the list for you. Your task is to create an image on paper in PENCIL, (or colored pencil, or paint, if you have it), utilizing all of the elements from your list. You may add more items than what is on the list. The point is to create a well-drawn, somewhat nonsensical image reminiscent of the Surrealist movement in art history. See www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surrealism for examples of famous works in this style.
